CURRICULAR PHILOSOPHY
Developed by the Center for Gifted Education
at the College of William and Mary
OUR CURRICULUM
Our overarching philosophy is that the unique needs of gifted students should be addressed in a personalized manner. We aim to meet each child where they are and support their individual needs.
Our classes are group into three cohorts: Junior Kindergarten/Kindergarten, Elementary School, and Middle School.
Each cohort contains combination classes, for example, 1st and 2nd grades are paired together, and so on.
Students are typically placed in a grade-level classroom that matches them with age-peers.
They may attend core classes matched by academic ability and need.
Structured this way, our small community has much cross-over and opportunities for collaboration across ages.
