OUR STUDENTS

"I choose our mascot because gifted children carry many of the traits that are often associated with the fox.  Foxes, like these students, are creative problem solvers. The fox encourages us to think outside of the box and use our intelligence in different, creative ways, attacking problems from every angle.  I have been amazed by the varied solutions these students come up with when given the freedom of intellectual risk taking. But a fox will also sit back and wait, showing patience and quiet observation. Our students certainly practice that healthy combination of persistence and patience.

Foxes also display grand adaptability and can teach us to see a situation, not only as one wishes it to be, but as it IS. When a situation or environment is difficult, a willingness to be fluid and adaptable instead of stubborn, can lead to great insight. Instead of resisting one's situation, one can learn to trust that one has all the tools and resources one needs to turn difficulties around. Our students are learning that they indeed can trust in their resilience and strong capabilities as life pushes growth upon us."
